In the depths of the ocean lurks an evil spirit only one woman can find and battle.
The Pearl Diver, a skilled young woman dwelling in a poor village, has learned the difficult art of diving unfathomable depths. A humble wanderer, who's true identity is that of a Prince, woos her hand in marriage with her mother's consent. The Pearl Diver agrees to use her diving skills to free his family heirloom from a fierce mystical sea dragon and helps her love retain his family honor. The mission, proves fatal, yet her tale of bravery and intelligence lives on through generations and lingers on the tongues of Emperors and artists alike. An Asian American and Pacific Islanders cast brings a contemporary approach to the ancient legend through movement, poetry, puppetry and original music.
